Connie Ostwald, Ph.D. is a business consultant and economics professor, currently serving on the faculty at Eastern University and with TeamSpeak Consulting, Inc. Through her position in the School of Leadership and Development at Eastern University, Connie has done capacity building and leadership training for development professionals around the world. She has taught in China, South Africa, Kenya, Mexico, Italy, Romania, and Thailand where NGO, business, and government professionals have come from the surrounding regions to join her program.
In her consulting work she has provided training for a variety of private sector and non-profit organizations, focusing in the areas of social entrepreneurship, managerial economics, professional development, leadership, and teambuilding. Clients include United Banks, First American Mortgage Company, World Vision, Habitat for Humanity, Amity Foundation, and Allstate Insurance.
Connie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and in Environmental Studies, a Master’s Degree in Business/Marketing, and a Ph.D. in International Economics as her field of study. Her area of research is the social justice aspect of economic development, and specifically the social impact of economic inequality. She has done considerable research in Ireland and currently spends a large portion of every year in the frontier region of Mexico on the Baja Peninsula, an area going through considerable economic development at this time.
Connie is happily married to Gary Ostwald, also a professor at Eastern University and founder of TeamSpeak Consulting, Inc. When they are not teaching, you can find them sea kayaking off the West Coast of Canada or Mexico or riding bikes and hiking in Colorado.
