Gary Ostwald (BSIE, MBA, PhD) is Associate Professor of Management at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. Previously, he was on the faculty of the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business where he taught leadership and management courses in their MBA program. Gary is trained in industrial engineering, leadership development and human communication studies. He serves as a professional speaker and leadership coach for TeamSpeak Consulting (teamspeakconsulting.com).
Gary Ostwald’s clients include Allstate Insurance Company, State Farm Insurance Company, DuPont, Sun Microsystems, City and County of Denver, Sun Belt Athletic Conference, HCA Hospital Corporation of America, Rose Medical Center and JE Dunn Construction Group, among others.
Gary has spoken at the Amity Foundation in China, the Association for Experiential Education (AEE) International Conference, the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) National Conference and the State Farm Mountain States University Conference, among others. He speaks primarily on the topics “Lead with Authenticity”, “High Performance Leadership”, and “Creating a Culture of Teamwork” (garyostwald.com).
Gary is the founder of Teams in Action, a small nonprofit organization based in Colorado that uses experiential education for increasing cross-cultural understanding (cdteams.org). He has led experiential education trips to Mexico for the past eight years. Dr. Ostwald serves as an advisor to the Wilderness Kayak Institute (wildernesskayak.net) and is an avid sea kayaker. His sea kayaking expeditions have included Mexico, Canada, Ireland and the USA, both east and west coasts. Recently, Gary circumnavigated Kunghit Island and Cape St. James in the Queen Charlotte Islands, Canada.
Gary Ostwald has received the Diamond Award for teaching excellence at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. Gary has held engineering and management positions in Fortune 500 firms, beginning his business career with 3M Company as an Industrial Engineer.
